Regular Verbs

They are verbs which end in -ed. 
For example:                              
work - worked
play - played

We have some rules to form the past tense of a regular verb
verbs ending in - y, drop -y and add -ied. For example:
study - studied
try -tried
cry - cried








Other rule is for verbs ending in -e, we only have to add -d. For example:
dance - danced
love - loved
hate - hated



Verbs ending in a consonant, preceded by a vowel and this vowel is preceded by a consonant, we have to double the last consonant and add -ed. For example:
stop - stopped
drop - dropped
plan - planned
