Affirmative Sentences in Past Simple

To form an affirmative sentence in Past Simple, we have to write:

• First, the subject or pronoun
• Second, the verb (in Past Simple)
• Third, the complement
• And finally, the time expression (it is optional) 

For example: 

I bought a car last year.
They studied English. 
He wrote a letter.
My brothers played soccer.
